dc.description.abstractSupport for small and medium enterprise (SME) growth is important to the Philippine Government as the sector prepares for fuller participation in trade agreements. Identifying concerns of SME exporters is needed for creating better policies. This paper assesses factors determining SMEs decision to export (export propensity) as well as variables that affect export value (export intensity). Results show that firm size is significant for both export propensity and export value; a higher percentage of foreign ownership increases the probability of a firm exporting; and human capital, access to finance and shipping are other determining factors.en
