Household characteristics and capacities need to be taken into account when designing adaptation and safety net mechanisms aimed at reducing vulnerability to climate change. This analysis shows that households in the study area are aware of changing climate and are concerned about increasing dryness affecting agricultural production, livestock and health. However, it also revealed that the most frequent shocks to households are health-related, followed by environmental impacts. The paper uses mathematical modelling to weigh factors of vulnerability.en
