Senegal has prioritized adaptation actions in coastal and northern areas, and in water resources, agriculture, fisheries, and health. Specific adaptation actions are under way that target resilience-building needs in the areas of agriculture, climate information, coastal zone management, and disaster risk management. More limited efforts appear to be focused in tourism and health sectors. Strengthening the role of civil society organizations in national climate change debates and programming could be a crucial step in improving national capacities to meet the challenge of climate change. The government has established climate change coordinating committees at national and regional levels, however, progress has been modest.en
