dc.description.abstractThe report presents clear legal arguments towards the promotion of regulatory references for implementation of front-of-package labelling (FOPL) that includes critical nutrients of foods and non-alcoholic beverages under applicable international standards. It summarizes the current legal framework regarding labeling and packaging in Argentina, Brazil and Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), and considers the World Trade Organization (WTO) recommendations. The study provides evidence to promote effective FOPL policies in Brazil and Argentina, and to provide inputs in support of political dialogues in MERCOSUR countries.en
