dc.description.abstract‘Social learning approaches’ denote actions taken that are designed to create conditions in which social learning is likely to occur. This paper aims to clarify the potential of social learning approaches for climate change adaptation in developing countries, highlighting and bringing structure to evidence that is currently dispersed among diverse case studies. It provides a survey of the literature to draw out lessons for international development practices. Social learning approaches can be employed to address interconnected social and ecological problems that can engage stakeholders with diverse perspectives.en
