Abstract

Knowledge translation addresses the divide between researchers and decision makers, to strengthen the link between research and action. This brief was prepared as part of the summative evaluation of the Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa (IMCHA) initiative to improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes by strengthening health systems, using primary health care as an entry point. While these are preliminary results, it is notable that they were achieved by projects that collaborated directly with national health authorities and by projects that collaborated with decision makers at facility or district levels.
