Does online counseling help the helping professionals? : randomized controlled trial of effectiveness of online and face to face counseling intervention

Abstract

Work in healthcare sector is characterized by high level of work stress internationally. Information technology mediated behavioral and psychology cares are widespread around the world. Through synchronous chat based format, the present trial examined the difference between effectiveness of online and face-to-face counseling both led by cognitive behavioral approach for doctors and nurses who experienced psychological conditions. Online counseling and face-to-face counseling interventions had similar effect in reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety.
