Item Accelerating the transition toward a triple-impact economy through sustainable public procurement (SPP) : final technical report(2020-05-06) Organization of American States / Inter-American Network on Government Procurement (OAS/INGP) Technical SecretariatThe project revealed that the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region still faces major technical, political, regulatory, and budgetary roadblocks preventing LAC countries from being able to handle sustainability criteria more smoothly. Most officials involved in public procurement institutions in LAC were not familiar with the concept of triple-impact economies nor with purpose-driven businesses. Activities and results of the project are outlined, with country-specific details. Activities included training members of the Inter-American Network on Government Procurement (INGP) to position public procurement as a tool for sustainable development in the region. Evidence shows the region is characterized already by substantive work on social sustainability.Item Active youth in the peace building process in Colombia(2018-09-27) Fundación capitalA peace agreement was signed with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People's Army (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, FARC) in 2016, with many young people affected by past conflicts. : an overview of the representativity of women in purpose-driven companies(2020-03-03) Velho, Beatriz; Mello, RuthWithin a limited study sample (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia), B Corporations have a statistically higher proportion of women included in the workforce. Results show that B Corps from different countries are not very different among themselves. This suggests that the B Lab is currently successful in constructing uniform gender-representativity criteria for companies from all over the world despite cultural and contextual differences. B Corporations are purpose-driven companies that are certified by B Lab, and focused on stimulating businesses to improve their social and environmental practices.Item Are b-corps ready to be a gateway to the job market for women and young people in Latin America? : a prospective study of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay(2020-03-03) Kaufmann, Ricardo; Pérez, Gabriela; Sobral, GonzaloThe document presents findings regarding the type and quality of the impact that B-Corps and Purpose-Driven Companies (PDC) have in the inclusion of women and youth in Latin America. B Corporation (also B Lab or B Corp) certification of "social and environmental performance" is a private certification of for-profit companies, distinct from the legal designation as a Benefit corporation. B Corp certification is conferred by B Lab in Latin America with Sistema B.Item ASEAN Regional Entrepreneurship Report 2015/2016(Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Jalan Tangsi, Kuala Lumpur, 2016) Xavier, Siri Roland; Sidin, Samsinar Md; Guelich, Ulrike; Nawangpalupi, CatharinaFor three years (2013 – 2015), a comprehensive research on entrepreneurship has been carried out to understand the nature, characteristics and dynamics of entrepreneurs and enterprise formation within Southeast Asia, including perceptions, aspirations and practices of women and youth with respect to entrepreneurship. Although the PSSN Programme is not primarily designed as a programme for promoting gender equality, findings indicate positive influences on livelihoods of female recipients and on improving gender relations. Social norms/patriarchy still limit the role that such interventions can play to enhance women’s leadership in communities. The PSSN programme includes conditional cash transfers, public works, and livelihood enhancement.
