dc.description.abstractThis book presents an example of planning for adaptation to climate change in the northern coastal zone of Egypt. Planning for sustainable use of water resources entails the consideration of socio-economic dimensions. This research study is a pioneering attempt in Egypt to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding vulnerabilities and adapting to climate change impacts. One of the most prominent obstacles to effective protection of the marine environment is the complex and sometimes unclear institutional framework for addressing marine pollution, as well as the limited, ad hoc cooperation among different agencies.en
