Rather than the well-trodden path of clichéd dichotomies (agriculture versus manufacturing or manufacturing versus services) the author identifies sectors and issues that answer the question of inclusive growth. One clear theme that recurs is the need for India to sustain high levels of economic growth to facilitate the “trickle-down” effect to the poor and vulnerable. Additionally, the book examines the measures adopted by private sector philanthropies and the government in the field of social development. It sums up policy recommendations, pointing to the future growth scenario of the Indian economy and a prioritisation of issues and policies which can accelerate trickle down benefits.en
