Evidence from international literature, and Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) - supported research clearly shows the connection between women’s access to infrastructure and positive health and economic outcomes for the entire household. This includes access to jobs for women and a reduction in their unpaid care burden at home. Linking evidence to policy, this paper synthesizes findings from selected research projects funded by the GrOW program that reveal the impact of public infrastructure on women’s economic empowerment (WEE) in low-income contexts. GrOW funded 14 research projects in 50 countries around the world, with a focus on South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa.en
