This study provides an overview of the B Corps movement from an emerging country perspective, based on the profile and secondary data analysis of 45 Brazilian B Corps. B Corporation (also B Lab or B Corp) certification of "social and environmental performance" is a private certification of for-profit companies conferred by B Lab, a global non-profit organization. The phenomenon is drawing enough attention to support the proposition of the existence of another sector in the economy. Hybrid organizations such as B Corp enterprises raise new questions about accountability, control and legitimacy.en
