Abstract
Web analytics as tools for conducting and generating social science research and program evaluation are introduced in this study. It looks at trends associated with the diffusion of Outcome Mapping (OM) by examining virtual footprints of individuals engaging with OM and other OM users on the Internet. Interests, conversations, habits, economic and social trends can be seen through individual and collective footprints left on the web; when aggregated, trends in the real world can be determined by related trends in the virtual world. Using OM as a case study, can we trace the spread and diffusion of ideas around the world?
