The presentation shows world mortality trends related to tobacco use (1970-2010) and trends in risk of death for various countries across the globe. It compares other chronic diseases with tobacco use. A tripling of excise tax on tobacco in every country would reduce consumption by 1/3 and avoid approximately 200M deaths.en
