A range of policies and practices have been identified which can help people adapt to climate change, mitigate against further climate change, combat land degradation and desertification, and improve food security. This publication offers a guide to the IPCC’s “Special Report on Climate Change and Land” and distills the richest material available on South Asia from the 1,300 pages of the Special Report. It provides information for knowledge sharing, and material suitable for training at various levels, with evidence-based research to back up climate change policy. Integrated governance across sectors and scales is needed to manage the pressure on land and water resources.en
