A survey and detailed analysis of entrepreneurial collaborations among health biotech firms in developing countries reveals a surprisingly high level of collaboration but lack of emphasis on new health biotech products and processes. Although South-South collaboration in science and technology has been high on developing countries’ agendas since the 1960s, there is limited amount of empirical data derived from examining these collaborations. 288 biotech firms completed the current survey. Results show that R&D collaborations are not nearly as numerous as end-stage commercial collaborations. South-South collaborations rarely include clinical trials. This survey establishes a baseline for future studies towards effective policy making.en
