In South Africa, research indicates that the issue of gender and ICT use is highly context dependent. This project investigates students’ access to and use of ICTs for learning at university. The current paper focuses on student interview data from a third phase of research, which provides a sense of how students perceive the issue of gender in relation to ICTs. While there is an overall perception of similarities, a more granular probe indicates distinct differences of perception. Scratching beneath the surface reveals some discriminatory attitudes.en
