Issues concerning genetically modified organisms (GMO) have been debated both in the Rajya Sabha and in the Lok Sabha (House and Legislative Assemblies of Indian parliament). The published parliamentary debates by themselves act as an important source of information and help to raise awareness regarding GM products and technologies in India. This paper provides a content analysis of important debate issues, and extracts nine predominant issues related to GM food and technology put forward in the question and answer sessions.en
