dc.description.abstract"CHILIKA" is the jointly published newsletter of the Chilika Development Authority and Wetlands International - South Asia. The water regimes of Chilika can be broadly classified into three sub-systems: freshwater flows are received through the tributaries of the River Mahanadi and the streams of western catchment; flows from the Bay of Bengal form the third sub-system, which connects to Chilika through the lake mouths (at Magarmukh and Gabakund) and the Palur Canal in the extreme south. The newsletter reviews ecosystem approaches to water management in the vital Chilika wetlands, with details of multiple ongoing projects in process.en
