Mumbai, not unlike many cities in the developing world, has undergone extensive urbanization in recent years. These rapid processes are not without complexities, and create stark contrasts among the different communities brought together. This report focuses on the spatial inequalities in one ward of Mumbai, the disparities found in the levels of development. Researchers find that in the inequalities present among the urban poor, vulnerabilities exist along four interconnected indicators: education, livelihood, health and habitat. The report calls for a humane, inclusive and people-led transformation, to deal with the consequences of the transformation brought about by urbanization.en
