dc.description.abstractIn order to address the high levels of poverty and violence experienced in Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro, local governments have been seeking evidence on which strategies and interventions are effective for the reduction of violence. Social cohesion is hypothesized to have an important role in reducing community violence. This video documentary is a result of the work done by researchers in the communities of Cape Town and Rio de Janeiro looking into the impacts of social cohesion on violence.en
