Abstract

Local rural innovations are adapted to the realities of specific contexts and can generate direct and almost immediate effects in terms of the availability of food produced and consumed by families. They also have mid-term effects, such as generating income that results in greater access to food diversity, and reducing vulnerability to unforeseen events. The report suggests ways of scaling up processes for implementation of rural innovation in the Andes region. Local rural innovations are effective ways and practices to solve some of the problems that families face in Andean rural locations.
