dc.description.abstractIn asymmetric wars between the armed state which possesses huge fire power, and non-state insurgent groups, ordinary people have suffered immensely. While some of these conflicts have been resolved through negotiations and peace agreements, the results are not encouraging as the states have often delayed implementing terms of the agreements and held up political reforms. In this publication, we have focused on histories and contexts of conflicts between state and non-state formations espousing the right to self-determination.en
