Hyderabad is the sixth largest Urban Agglomeration in the country. Water insecurity is congruent with the explosion in construction of real estate projects and population growth. The presentation discusses water losses over time, such as lack of rainfall, drought, the drying up of many lakes, and unplanned urban mega-projects. Households depend solely on bottled water for drinking. Some capacity building interventions are suggested.en
