dc.description.abstractThe Governance, Security, and Justice program (GSJ) supports creation of policy-relevant knowledge regarding conditions for increasing the legitimacy and accountability of public authorities in the areas of governance, security, and justice. This report describes GSJ’s prospectus implementation strategy, as well as how the program is responding to challenges, opportunities and risks (2011-2016). GSJ-funded research produced important insights on how to increase the legitimacy and accountability of public authorities. GSJ now participates in global and regional policy dialogues on issues of fragility, security, and conflict and has cultivated effective relationships with strategic partners to enhance locally-grounded research in decision making.en
