dc.description.abstractThis bulletin/newsletter is the 4th edition of the “Networks for change and wellbeing newsletter” which focuses on young women’s personal and cultural experiences of growing up in sexist and sexually violent societies. The bulletin covers conferences, recent scholarship, events and activities that are undertaken to better unravel the “norms” of colonialism that include conditions which increase the susceptibility of Indigenous girls and women to sexual predation. Girls are provided with mechanisms and strategies to give voice to their experiences. To remove the burden of responsibility from individual girls and women, resilience researchers have advocated an ecological systems approach and explained resilience as a co-produced process of positive adjustment.en
