This study examined on-going processes of climate change and adaptation strategies in six village development committees (VDCs) along the Gandak transect of central Nepal. Administrative boundaries (VDC’s) and hydrological sub-watershed boundaries do not correspond. Using participatory GIS, the research team updated maps of all six study VDCs and produced a bathymetric survey of Rupa Lake. The Mid-Hills ecological region, most vulnerable to climate change was the focus of the study. In assessing vulnerability, researchers identified crucial questions: “At what scale will climate change impacts occur?” “Where will they be most severe?” and “Who will be most affected by them?”en
