dc.description.abstractThere is a strong causal link between tobacco use and tuberculosis incidence. Almost 20% of the total disease burden due to tuberculosis is attributable to tobacco use. Pakistan is one of the top ten high burden countries for both tuberculosis and tobacco use. Therefore, in such countries it is desirable to deliver smoking cessation interventions integrated within TB control programmes. However, there is a lack of evidence on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of such approaches.
