V/AIDS is a significant health problem affecting the Burmese migrant population in Thailand where HIV continues to be transmitted among displaced people living there. Recommendations derived from the project for future HIV prevention and care programs towards implementation in the Thai-Burma border region have been published. This one-pager summaries key elements of the project which provided training with healthcare workers at the Mae Tao Clinic, Mae Sot, in Thailand. Due to political oppression by the military regime and the deterioration of health and education systems, Burmese people are illegally relocating into neighbouring Thailand.en
