Nepal has updated national targets and indicators with baseline information, started Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) costing, established SDGs implementation and process monitoring mechanisms and begun strengthening data base systems. Challenges in SDGs implementation include mainstreaming SDGs into provincial and local level planning and budgeting. Unavailability of disaggregated data at the sub-national level is a challenge for progress monitoring. Prioritization should be made in health-related SDGs which have multiplier effects, impacting poor and marginalized people, smallholders, peasants, children and women. Similarly, Nepal’s federal, provincial and local governments also need to prioritize SDGs following a sequencing approach during implementation.en
