Abstract
Cultivated and well maintained pastures or forage banks are required to support feeding of sheep and goats. The project aims to improve dry matter and nutrient yield of forages available on farms. As well, technologies aimed at transferring a high production of forage during the wet season towards the dry season must also be developed, such as proper compaction, storage and silage. This project brief provides details of some methods used in a project supported by the Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF) in the Caribbean islands.
