Abstract
Tools are needed that can enable development practitioners, researchers and vulnerable populations to validate and integrate adaptation options. The purpose of this document is to harmonize existing tools as a practical toolkit that enhances identification of climate change adaptive capacities; supports planning actions within projects and programs; and can monitor and evaluate a program’s contribution to strengthening adaptive capacities. The tools presented here have been selected and tested in six countries: Burkina Faso; Ghana; Kenya; Mali; Niger, and Senegal. Five modules comprising 11 tools cover the various steps for considering adaptive capacities in projects and programs.
