Abstract
The Autumn School was aimed at local economic development practitioners, policy makers and researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean interested in learning about the social economy and its use in territorial strategies for economic and social development. It provided an exchange of experiences with local professionals, policy actors, and researchers from Quebec. Rooted in popular culture and social movements, the social economy in Quebec is an example of an institutional experiment where the private and public sectors, labour as well as civil society organizations, are involved in a negotiating process to establish partnerships for common goals.
