The Evaluation Unit tracks this activity for internal monitoring and to communicate with the Centre and external audiences. Strengthening and professionalizing evaluation in the global South is an essential element in building strong research organizations that contribute to development. Evaluation UnitIDRC’s decentralized approach allows evaluations to be tailored to the unique needs of each user group. The report presents highlights of evaluation across the Centre for the past year and documents evaluations completed, and evaluation plans for the Centre. For instance, the Global Health Research Initiative (GHRI) is the first program to create a senior position for a monitoring and evaluation specialist and presents a new approach to managing evaluation.
