The review is intended to provide a foundation for discussions on the design and application of an alternative program logic model based on social learning and open systems concepts. The thesis was presented to the Faculty of Graduates Studies of the University of Guelph in February, 2001.The literature review explores how programs are perceived in general systems theory and the social learning paradigm. The review ends with an examination of logic models, outlining the need for an alternative approach to represent open systems. Relating to outputs, outcomes, and impact, generally, the literature correlates the terms with immediate, short-term, and long-term results of a program or project. Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) has become the standard framework in the management and evaluation of international development programs. The thesis provides a detailed study of the theory and applications of temporal logic, including systems theory.1 digital file (p. 19-75)application/pdfenLITERATURE REVIEWTEMPORAL LOGIC MODELINGINNOVATION SYSTEMSKNOWLEDGE NETWORKSDEVELOPMENT THEORYOPEN SYSTEMSSYSTEMS THEORYLOGICGLOBALLiterature review from : the development of a temporal logic modelThesis
