This paper examines religious and secular actors’ beliefs and values in contemporary Turkey with respect to questions of pluralism and democracy; questions that seem critical for Turkey’s democratization in its current stage. It provides in-depth analysis of many of the factors that influence public opinion and beliefs. Through content analysis, it focuses on elite opinions and discourse as represented by the media.
