Maintaining civil registration resilience amid the COVID-19 crisis : Tanzania’s one-step birth and death registration processes

Thanks to these redesigned civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems, government lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic did not have a dramatic impact on service delivery. In 2020 for the first time, births were allowed to be registered directly, online. The documents are subsequently reviewed and confirmed with an official certificate available for pickup.
