The research surveyed 724 rural households in avian influenza (AI) affected areas in three provinces, according to the AI incidence level. Millions of small scale and backyard producers have been affected in Southeast Asian countries. The purpose of the study is to analyze socio-economic impacts of AI outbreaks and control measures on backyard and small-scale poultry producers, and their responses to AI control measures.
