Even though GDP has slowly risen since 2013, the country remains in an extremely fragile state. Climate change has the potential to amplify Mali’s fragility: climate risks, especially recurrent droughts, have historically played a role in exacerbating these issues, causing significant damage to agriculture and livestock.
