This will involve a blending of capacities: the capability of technology to operate on large scale, and the expertise of professionals who can adapt generic principles to local conditions. For instance, large-scale massive open online courses or MOOCs would provide TPD directly to local teachers, supported through local face-to-face (f2f) groups. This could multiply up to 250,000 teachers being taught through effective uses of technology. The brief explains how the new model will work.application/pdfenACCESS TO EDUCATIONMASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSES (MOOCS)MOOCONLINE COMMUNITIESPRIMARY EDUCATIONTEACHER TRAININGDIGITAL DIVIDEWORLD WIDE WEBDIGITAL LEARNING FOR DEVELOPMENT (DL4D)OPEN DATA FOR DEVELOPMENTEDUCATIONAL COSTSEDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENTGLOBAL SOUTHDigital multiplier model for teacher professional development at scalePolicy Brief
