Centre for Population and Environmental Development (CPED)2021-12-132021-12-132021-10-25http://hdl.handle.net/10625/60814This project was designed to strengthen the ability of women, girls and other stakeholders in rural communities in the Niger Delta to make informed decisions regarding climate change driven pressures on their livelihoods, such as sea level rise and salt water intrusion. Access to information would facilitate planning and disaster risks management. Women and girls are most at risk to climate change impacts due to reliance on climate-vulnerable natural resources, limited assets, and limited access to adaptive measures and disaster risks reduction strategies. Women’s leadership in civil society organizations can provide the base for participation in more formal processes of disaster response.application/pdfenWOMEN IN DEVELOPMENTCLIMATE CHANGE VULNERABILITYWOMEN’S EMPOWERMENTACCESS TO RESOURCESLEADERSHIPWOMEN’S PARTICIPATIONCOMMUNITY-BASED ADAPTATIONCIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONSNIGER DELTANIGERSOUTH OF SAHARAEmpowering women as key leaders in promoting community-based climate change adaptation and disaster risks reduction initiatives in Niger Delta regionFinal Technical Report
