The civil registration and identity management systems are integrated into one system, where health authorities and mortuaries notify live births and deaths occurring inside and outside of facilities directly to the civil registration system. The brief also explores how the system can be used to monitor key health indicators, such as numbers of deaths, causes of deaths, and excess deaths, as well as conducting health surveillance.application/pdfenCIVIL REGISTRATION AND VITAL STATISTICSDIGITIZATIONCRVSBIRTH REGISTRATIONDEATH REGISTRATIONCAUSE OF DEATHCOVID-19DATA COLLECTIONPANDEMICMORTALITYRECORDS MANAGEMENTHEALTH POLICYSOCIAL SAFETY NETSNAMIBIASOUTH OF SAHARABuilding resilient civil registration and vital statistics systems amid COVID-19 : Namibia as a good practicePolicy Brief
