Centre for Action Research2011-10-052011-10-051990http://hdl.handle.net/10625/47161This is a brief summary of a pilot study carried out at two food manufacturing industries in Nairobi, with a special objective of setting up a procedure that could be replicated and applied to a nationwide study of women in industrial development in Kenya. The pilot study instrument, (the questionnaire), has been successfully used. Both the interviewer and the interviewees had no difficulties with the questions raised. The management was receptive, and they allowed the researchers access to the employee's registers. The researchers were also able to meet and to inter-mingle freely with the employees, after work and during breaks, in order to determine the study samples, and subsequently to carry out interviews.
