It provides recommendations for how Canadian development aid and foreign economic policies can focus on building the foundations for inclusive growth in open economies in Latin America. Canada’s Strategy for the Americas policy is aimed at fostering stable, prosperous and democratic societies in the hemisphere (DFAIT, 2009).
