String gas cosmology is based on making use of key new degrees of freedom and symmetries which distinguish string theories from point particle theories. After deriving the general equations of motion for particle geodesics, the case is specialized for a cosmological background with vanishing antisymmetric tensor field. Following these prescriptions, the paper shows the existence of a singularity-free cosmological solution.application/pdfenPHYSICSCOSMOLOGYSCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY POLICYHIGHER EDUCATIONMATHEMATICAL MODELSNORTH-SOUTH COOPERATIONCANADASOUTH OF SAHARAPoint particle motion in double field theory and a singularity-freeJournal Article (peer-reviewed)
