In a recent report, the United Nations Development Programme (UNPD) argues there is a direct correlation between structural social inequalities, and the policies that bring about these inequalities, and poverty. Another conclusion is that a major agency in the fight against global poverty is good government, acting with ‘international cooperation’ and ‘social participation’.
