Mbeubeuss receives all the household and solid industrial waste produced in the Dakar region, home to about 2.5 million inhabitants. The waste amounts to 460,000 tons a year. A research team, known as the Dakar Focus City Team, will work to improve the living conditions of the people who live near the Mbeubeuss landfill.
