Two interventions involve changing dirt floors to cement-type flooring, and removing animals from inside households by building chicken coops and small out buildings for animals. Households that did not improve their properties became a focus of infestation. This report describes improvements to housing through plaster board, dirt floor substitution, and constructing outbuildings for animals. Wall plaster technologies are based on traditional community building practices. Floor substitution is comparatively very difficult as it is non-traditional and there are few resources.Text1 digital file (9 p.)enCHAGAS DISEASECOMMUNICABLE DISEASESVECTOR-BORNE DISEASESTRIATOMAPUBLIC HEALTHHOUSING IMPROVEMENTINSECTSLATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEANGUATEMALANORTH AND CENTRAL AMERICAExecutive sintesis : project "Long term management of the risk factors shaping the re-infestation of Triatoma dimidata"IDRC Final Report
