The strong relationship between climate variability, water stress, food production, and wellbeing warrants an intersectional focus, for instance, on household/family structure - one example of a “blind spot” in vulnerability assessments. Adaptation options for the most vulnerable require careful consideration of issues often ignored by traditional assessments. The paper uses examples of water and food systems to highlight the critical importance of considering blind spots in vulnerability assessments.application/pdfenCLIMATE CHANGE HOTSPOTSVULNERABILITYWATER RESOURCESFOOD SYSTEMSGENDERADAPTATION RESPONSEGLOBAL SOUTHVULNERABLE POPULATIONSCLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATIONENVIRONMENTAL POLICYHYDROLOGYResponding to uneven vulnerabilities : a synthesis of emerging insights from climate change hotspotsCARIAA Working Paper no. 22Working Paper
