Kinshella, Maggie Woo2020-08-042020-08-042018http://hdl.handle.net/10625/59295This is a first person “witness” account of a visit to Chatinkha Nursery in Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Malawi, a neonatal intensive care unit where babies with respiratory distress syndrome can be treated with life-saving bubble CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines. When a baby requires immediate care or is referred from another hospital they are brought to this ward. Approximately two babies a day rely on the bubble CPAP machines. In front of each of the babies is a bench where mothers can sit while they visit and care for their newborns.application/pdfenPERCEPTIONMATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTHNEONATAL HEALTHHEALTH-CARE DELIVERYPEDIATRICSINNOVATIONSMALAWISOUTH OF SAHARAWitnessing lifesaving neonatal innovations in MalawiIn the Media
